Alan B. McMillan, PhD, is a Professor of Clinical Health Sciences within the Department of Radiology and Medical Physics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He obtained his Bachelor of Science, Master of Science, and PhD in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Wisconsin – Madison. He is the Principal Investigator of the Molecular Imaging Technology Research Program (MITRP), where the team’s focus is to integrate advanced modeling, data science, and physics-based approaches to improve MRI and PET imaging techniques. Dr. McMillan serves in additional departmental roles as the Associate Section Chief of the Imaging Sciences Section and Technical Director of PET/MR within the Department of Radiology. He serves as the Co-Director of the Pilot Grants program within the UW-Madison School of Medicine and Public Health’s Institute for Clinical and Translational Research. Dr. McMillan also serves on the editorial board for the journal Radiology as a Deputy Editor. In 2023, Dr. McMillan was named a Distinguished Investigator by the Academy for Radiology and Biomedical Imaging Research.
