Our research group has a new name! The group formerly known as the Molecular Imaging / Magnetic Resonance Technology Lab (MIMRTL) will now be called the Molecular Imaging Technology Research Program (MITRP). The new acronym can be pronounced “mitt-rip.”
This change helps better align our group with the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health’s (UW-SMPH) policy for research groups to refer to themselves in a more consistent manner across the institution.
While our name is new, our mission remains exactly the same. We are the same team of researchers, led by Dr. Alan B. McMillan, located in the Wisconsin Institutes for Medical Research. We continue to be dedicated to advancing MRI, PET/MR, and PET/CT imaging techniques and technology to gain new structural and functional information to better detect and assess human disease. It’s the same great research, just with a new name.
We look forward to continuing our important work under our new banner as the Molecular Imaging Technology Research Program (MITRP).
